What we do

Everything between the idea and the finished product.

Most hardware projects fail in the handovers — design to engineering, engineering to factory, factory to certification. We do all of it, so there are no handovers to fail in.

The route

How a product gets made

One team and one plan from the first sketch to the packing line. You have a single point of contact the whole way.

  1. 01

    Design

We turn the idea into an industrial design and a technical specification — how it looks, what it costs and what it has to do.

  2. 02

    Engineer & prototype

Electronics, firmware, mechanics and tooling. You get working units in your hands to test, demo and raise money with.

  3. 03

    Test & certify

We run the testing and take the product through the marks it needs — CE, UKCA, FCC, UL, CCC, Energy Star — before production, not after.

  4. 04

    Manufacture

Production through qualified partner plants across ten sites in five countries, with quality, supply chain and delivery run as one programme.

Services

Six things we do, and do together.

You can start with any one of them. Most clients end up using all six, because they are the same project seen from different angles.

Industrial & product design

Industrial & product design

How the product looks, feels and is used — and whether it can be made at the price you need. Concept sketches through to production-ready CAD and a costed bill of materials.

  • Concept and form studies
  • Production CAD and drawings
  • Materials, finish and colour
  • Costed bill of materials
Electronics & firmware engineering

Electronics & firmware engineering

Schematic, board layout, embedded software and the integration work that makes them one product rather than three parts that nearly fit.

  • Schematic and PCB design
  • Embedded firmware
  • Radio and antenna integration
  • Power and thermal design
Prototyping & tooling

Prototyping & tooling

Working units you can hold, test and show investors — then the tooling that turns them into a repeatable product.

  • 3D-printed and machined parts
  • Functional prototype builds
  • Injection mould tooling
  • Pilot production runs
Testing & certification

Testing & certification

Verification and validation inside the project, before certification rather than after it. Six marks across the product classes we build.

  • EMC and radio testing
  • Safety and environmental testing
  • Reliability and life testing
  • Certification submissions
Contract manufacturing

Contract manufacturing

Production across ten sites in five countries through partner plants we have qualified — PCB assembly, mechanical assembly, final test and packaging, with our own quality people on the floor.

  • PCB assembly at volume
  • Mechanical and final assembly
  • In-line and end-of-line test
  • Packaging and logistics
Sourcing & supply chain

Sourcing & supply chain

Component selection, supplier qualification and the unglamorous work of making sure the part you designed in is still available next year.

  • Supplier qualification and audit
  • Component sourcing and alternates
  • Cost reduction programmes
  • Inventory and lead-time planning

Market access

Certified before production, not after.

Certification failures are expensive because they arrive last, when the tooling is cut and the parts are bought. We design for the marks your market needs from the first schematic.

CE
European conformity — EU health, safety and environmental protection
UKCA
UK Conformity Assessed — Great Britain market access
FCC
US Federal Communications Commission — electromagnetic compatibility
UL
Underwriters Laboratories — North American product safety
CCC
China Compulsory Certification — mandatory for the Chinese market
Energy Star
US EPA energy-efficiency programme

Not sure which part you need?

That is what the first call is for. Tell us where the product is now and we will tell you what it takes to get it to market.
